How to close programs that consume lots of memory and CPU in Windows 10
Windows 10 has a tool, also present in previous versions, that shows the listing of currently open programs and how much they are using memory and processor. With “Task Managers,” it’s easier to identify the heavier processes and close them, if necessary, to make the PC faster.
The tool can also be seen only as a source of information on the current state of the system, but it is best recommended for times when the PC is so slow that its use becomes unfeasible. In these cases, the steps below can be useful to unlock Windows and bring you the breath to finish that important work.
Step 1. Click the Cortana search bar and type “Task Manager.” Press “Enter” on the keypad to confirm. You can also activate the function by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc on the keyboard at the same time;
Step 2. With the program open, click on more details;
Step 3. Click Memory to find out which programs are most consuming your computer’s RAM;
Step 4. Right click on the software you no longer need to use, and click “End Task” again;
Step 5. In the same way, you can click on the CPU column to know which app is consuming too much of the processor. You can also complete the task, as in step 4.
