Ghost touch: problem on the screen haunts Moto G 4 owners and other cell phones
Ghost touch is the name of a problem that causes the phone to display free ringtones even though the user is not touching anything on display. The glitch, which haunts smartphone owners and is also known as a “ghost touch,” can affect handsets of any brand and operating system, even newer models – owners of the Moto G 4, for example, have already made several complaints on the internet.
The strange bug in Android, iPhone or Windows Phone can prevent the user from using the cell phone since the screen is “pressing” buttons automatically. That happens when the smartphone is charging or very hot, but it is possible that a dirty screen or a software error will also cause ghosting.
To get rid of the problem, check out the following four causes and solutions for ghost touch.
1) Use of protective fiber
Glass or plastic protective films are always welcome on the cell phone in the event of a fall or accident. However, accessories may cause your smartphone to enter “alone” if they have air or liquid under the tape. Small debris in the adhering material can also cause failure.
In this case, the solution is to remove the film. Leave your smartphone unprotected for a while and see if the problem continues. When placing a new one, take the process calmly and carefully to avoid blisters. If you do not feel safe to install the material ask for help from a professional.
2) Dirty screen
Just as the film can cause the “scary” touches, the dirty screen also influences. Even with clean hands, it is only natural that dust and fat stay on the phone for a while and do not just leave with the great cleaning on the shirt. So, to completely remove the dirt from the smartphone, use a micro fiber cloth, the most suitable for mobile screens.
Turn off the appliance to see the dirtiest spots and repeat the procedure frequently, at least once every 15 days. If the screen continues with fingerprints, for example, soak the cloth with a little isopropyl alcohol. But take it easy! Leave the fabric just moist, nothing to soak it.
3) Software error
If you have already removed the film, cleaned the screen and the ghost touch remains the output before sending the mobile phone for repair is to restore the factory settings. The feature tends to solve problems and crashes by deleting data that may be generating an error and therefore ghosting.
Before restoring, remember to save your files, such as photos and contacts, as the procedure uninstalls all applications and returns the phone to the initial settings.
4) Hardware error
Did nothing work? It may be that the problem is a hardware error. The way, therefore, is to refer the device to the service center to find out the specific cause of the phantom touch. Contact the mobile phone manufacturer and find the nearest specialized service in your home. If you have saved, take the warranty and the product invoice together with your smartphone to help with the process.
