The faces of Cate Blanchett

Blanchett made her international film debut in 1997 with a supporting role as an Australian nurse captured by the Japanese Army during World War II in the movie Paradise Road directed by Bruce Beresford and starring Glenn Close and Frances McDormand. Her first major role, also in 1997, was as "Lucinda Leplastrier" in production Oscar and Lucinda (opposite Oscar and Lucinda), opposite Ralph Fiennes.
