The faces of Cate Blanchett

 Coincidentally, Peter Carey, the author of Oscar and Lucinda, had met Blanchett's father, Bob, when they both were advertising in Melbourne. Blanchett was nominated for her first prize, the Australian Film Institute Awards for Best Actress for this role, but lost to Pamela Rabe in The Well.
