The Su-25 is unfussy. It's simple, even more than the A-10. It lacks the big gun of the Warthog, but still has a good enough one to punch holes in armored vehicles. The Su-25, however, is a great deal faster than the A-10. The Warthog outright stops at around 400 knots in a clean configuration (No weapons on hardpoints), where as the Su-25 can reach in excess of 520. The Su-25 pilots enjoy an incredibly nimble aircraft and will always praise its handling characteristics. It fits in with Soviet/Russian doctrine of "Frontal Aviation." Unlike the A-10, the Su-25 is operated extremely close to the battle space. Where an A-10 may return to re-arm at an airbase far away, the Su-25 will land much closer to where the fighting is for the same.
