Subcultures Worldwide From Freedom Activists to Exorcism, Satan Community And More
Lgbt Prague Pride And Its Contrasts
My name is David Tesinsky, I'm an independent photographer of the subcultures, urban cultures, street stories and people's stories in general AKA reportage/social documentary photography. I was born on April 1990 in Prague. I'm always in search for somehow controversial, unique, special lifestyles and I'm capturing bright moments and also problematics of nowadays. To me, photography can be the cure for the people which can heal people through seeing other people's stories captured in a specific way. It's a great motivation for me to capture such moments which makes people realize things or just be simply enriched by knowing and seeing that. I'm photographing subcultures and different people's stories worldwide. For example activists and new generation of freedom in Iran, exorcism rituals in Ethiopia, tragi-comical life of Japanese businessmen, Rap as a religion in Detroit, NY and Baltimore, living legends and real VS fake Rastafarians in Jamaica, life of the drug addicts in Prague, soldiers in Ukraine, Satan community in Prague, life in slums in many Asian countries and some more. I got my first camera when I was 12 and I was bothering my classmates, I was much more into skateboarding at that time so it took a while before I found a higher meaning of it. Then I've started studying photography in Prague but the trouble was I get myself more into punk rock, grunge and playing guitar than photography. Before I've finished my graduation I've decided to quit the school as I was only sleeping there and finally get myself on the plane to USA where I was searching for the inner goal of my focus and my meaning in that focus. I've started to travel a lot since I was about 20 into Asian countries such as India, Nepal, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan etc. It was always very low cost which was the reason it was quite possible to stay for even few months for me. Sometimes I had to sleep in the park or in some wrong place in Africa where I found myself in the middle of a bloody fight because of me and my "expensive bag".
