Vostok is located around 1,000 kilometres from the South Pole and has a population of scientists who work inside the world's most isolated research station. But when it does, it becomes the sunniest place on the planet, receiving 22.9 hours of sunlight! It's quite the place to inhabit where survival is next to impossible.
