Unfortunately, few books and articles have been written that discuss the Shah in light of his health and the chaos that surrounded it. Some of them even contain false or incomplete information: for example, that the Shah had been treated at the Mayo Clinicor that the State Department had no real information about the Shah’s condition.Only the British journalist William Shawcrossand the late Dr. Leon Morgensternhave earlier given detailed accounts of the Shah’s disease; hence, there is still a knowledge gap regarding the Shah’s health care and the political aspects of it.
