“Oliver Twist” musical in Tehran

Dramaturge Mohammadreza Kuhestani, stage designer Siamak Ehsai and costume designer Shima Mir-Hamidi will also collaborate in the project. The musical will be produced by Harir-e Honar-e Sharq.Parsai had earlier announced a few years ago that he had plans to stage the play, but the project was halted to await better conditions.

“Oliver Twist”, the second novel by English author Charles Dickens (1812-1870), tells the story of the orphan Oliver Twist, who is born in a workhouse and is then sold into apprenticeship with an undertaker. He escapes from there and travels to London, where he meets the Artful Dodger, a member of a gang of juvenile pickpockets led by the elderly criminal, Fagin.
