The plane crashed into a nearby marketplace, then exploded in a fireball, killing somewhere between 225 and 348 people, and injuring about 500 more. It’s not clear that anything has been learned from this accident (the 2007 Africa One crash is said to be a “virtual repeat” but with only 51 deaths).
