So as you can see there are many purposes for photography and it all depends on the genres when it comes to its usage and purpose. The importance of photography is that without it we’d have a lot of visual information that would never reach the human mind that can impact life’s decisions. A good example, Kevin Carter’s 1994 Pulitzer Prize winning photo, taken in 1993 of the “starving toddler trying to reach a feeding center when a hooded vulture landed nearby.” This was a major reason the United States got involved in the Somalia famine and it eventually led to Kevin’s death by suicide.
