The 1997 project was assembled by a team at NASA, and it completed over 30 flights via remote control. The mobility was impressive, and the project exceeded everyone’s expectations. The $21 million funding produced a stressful test program, and the aircraft was eventually retired. Unless it’s under wraps, you won’t see any of these zig-zaggy planes in the air anytime soon.
