What are the most weird-looking airplanes that ever flew?

NASA made the Ames-Dryden (AD-1) somewhere between the years 1979 and 1982. Right alongside the Hyper III, the Ames0Dryden was tested at their Flight Research Center in Cali. The thin shape of both the plane’s body and the wings makes it seem impossible to fly, but it conducted over 75 flights for research purposes. However, because of its shape, it was hard to handle at certain angles and conditions. Like many others on this list, the plane can now only be found in museums.
