Despite threats from Iran’s intelligence agency under the Shah, the SAVAK, Amir-Entezam expanded his political activities. After the Revolution, he started working alongside Bazargan, became involved in the Human Rights Committee’s activities, and had occasional contact with Americans. His mastery of the principles of diplomacy and English language allowed him to take on a more prominent role than he had in the past. In addition, despite their differences in opinion, Bazargan trusted him immensely. Before Amir-Entezam’s detainment, he and Bazargan developed a close and long-lasting friendship.
