Jungfraubahn, translating to ‘maiden’ or ‘virgin’, gained its namesake from the Jungfrau peaks that tower above it. the Jungfrau Railway is the second highest open-air railway in Switzerland and runs 9km from Kleine Scheidegg to the highest railway station in Europe – Jungfraujoch station. Did you know that most of the railway that runs within the Jungfrau tunnel are built into the Eiger and Monch mountains?
