No matter what's going on around you, inside of you, above or below your breath is always there. It never goes away, never abandons you, and feels everything you feel. If you're angry, breath becomes heavy. If you're at peace, breath becomes long and deep. No matter what's going on, breath reflects the situation. No matter what you can always go home to your breath. When you're going through challenges your body and mind will tend to "separate" in a sense and this leads to all kinds of problems. By going home to your breath you have the ability to ground yourself like a tree who has extended its roots deep into the soil.
