But do that, and you risk missing out on Gozo’s enchantment altogether – and all the special places too far off the main road to discover easily as part of a tour group.In the summer months, I’d recommend staying on Gozo and visiting Malta for day trips. It’s an easy 30-minute boat trip between the islands on a ferry. There’s a lot to see on Malta but it’s a lot busier and more built up than its sister island, particularly in the summer. It was good to see the sights on a day trip but we were always relieved to return to the quieter pace of Gozo.
