Every village in Malta and Gozo celebrates the feast day of its patron saint with street decorations, parades and lots of fireworks. If you come in August you’ll find a festival going on most days. The biggest is the Festa of Santa Maria in Victoria which takes place for three days around August 15th, with horse races through the streets, brass bands, parades and firework displays.The Carnival in February is particularly lively and there are also spectacular festivals over Easter as well as a Fireworks Festival in April.
