I was very fortunate as a child because my father built an empire which afforded us financial freedom. However, my father chose to escape Iran’s oppressive regime, so he sacrificed his successful company and moved us to Canada. Though we had less wealth, it was in Canada that I learned the biggest joys in life are not material things, but rather the time and memories that I share with the people I love.
