ABADAN city is located in the southern west of Iran and close to Iran-Iraq border. The city was originally a small town However since the establishment of ABADAN Refinery in 1911 it became an important industrial city in Iran. Iran.ABADAN city was surrounded by Iraqi forces during the first year of Iran-Iraq war in 1980 and was mainly destroyed by Iraqi fire. However it was reconstructed after the war and still has an important rule in Iranian oil industry.
