A large crowd in the city of Kermanshah in the west of the country demonstrated and later drew tear gas fire from the police. Significant clashes also occurred in Tabriz, another major Iranian city. The protests turned deadly in the southern city of Behbahan when regime security forces tore into the demonstrators, killing four of them. Two further fatalities were reported, one each in Sirjan and Marivan. Widely circulated footage appeared to show several instances of live rounds being fired, seemingly without restraint, at demonstrators in the streets.
