The bad news about the legendary vocalist is that he has been battling kidney cancer for some 19 years. He revealed the misfortune through a YouTube video in 2016, when he was in Canada. He referred to the disease as an “old friend” who would stay with him for some time. Since then, he has been hospitalized several times and undergone numerous surgeries, and has so far been able to overcome what is a deadly disease.
