According to 2015 statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the method has become one of the fastest-growing types of plastic surgery in the US. Apparently, the type of surgery rose by 252 per cent, from 1,356 to 4,767 procedures, during the period spanning 2000 to 2015. However, injecting fat into the butt can lead to complications if done incorrectly. This includes fat embolism, an unwanted condition where fat accidentally enters the bloodstream and blocks a blood vessel.
