Former Tehran Mayor and Parliament Speaker

Ghalibaf was born to a Kurdish father Hossein Ghalibaf and a Persian mother Kheirolnessa Boujmehrani in Torqabeh, near Mashhad, on 23 August 1961.His father, Hossein, is from Torghabeh and his mother, Kheyrolnesah is from Neyshabur. Hossein Ghalibaf, currently a baker in his hometown, participated in the Iran-Iraq War along with his two other sons.
