Conservation International claims that a third of the planet's wild-caught fish stocks have been depleted because of overfishing, pollution and the effects of climate change. The World Wildlife Fund helped create the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC), which has set an environmental standard to identify sustainable fisheries. If people only buy from MSC-approved sources and governments enforce fishing regulations, fish stocks may return to a sustainable level.
