Homayoun Shajarian and his family in Sulaymaniyah

Davami taught him, among other things, early-twentieth-century tasnifs, composed songs that had played a major political role and that had not been performed in decades. At the radio organization, Shajarian also spent long hours listening to old recording of famous singers of the past to study the subtleties of their art.
