Hollywood has fun playing with the idea of bodyguards. In reality, however, bodyguards seldom fit the image created by the movies. Bodyguards can be men or women and are intelligent, well-trained, athletic individuals who often have years of service in the military or police forces. If you want to spot a real bodyguard, the next time you watch a red carpet event, look for the individuals watching the crowd and not the celebrity. That’s because it’s the bodyguard’s job not to “ohhh” or “ahhh” when in the presence of a famous person, but to protect them.
