The parrot owl aka Kakapo is a native of New Zealand. When it sees a predator, it gets so scared that it freezes instantly instead of trying to escape. The bird likes to feed on berries that grow once every four years. Also, the kakapo is not particularly good at reproducing. The males try to attract females by clearing up a mating area and making a booming call. Unfortunately, their call is such that it produces an echo all over the place, making it incredibly difficult for the female to find the mating area. There are only about 150 of them left on the planet today.
