Ladan and Laleh Bijani: Iranian conjoined twin sisters

Laleh and Ladan Bijani wanted to be separated from the moment they took their first breaths. When one infant tried to shift position, she would futilely struggle against the weight of her sister, who was attached to her head just above the ear. Their parents - poor farmers living in southwestern Iran - had no idea how to care for these babies and brought them to Tehran, where the sisters became minor celebrities.
