He was a cold iron master in construction. It was discovered by a filmmaker from Adana while singing in construction. At first, he came to Adana and then to Ankara, where he took the stage in casinos and pavilions. In 1974, he became famous with the "Kundura on His Foot", which he sang at the Kınalı Pavilion in Ankara, and appeared on Ankara Radio first and then on TV one New Year's Eve. He moved to Istanbul towards the mid 70's and started to take the stage here. Here he met the musician Yılmaz Tatlıses, who gave him his last name.
