At a news conference earlier this week, OPP said they had linked Hajtamiri’s abduction with an assault in December when she was attacked with a frying pan in Richmond Hill. Police said they believed the same people were either involved in the abduction, or could identify those responsible. The suspects in the December attack fled in a vehicle, which police have said was stolen in Toronto. On January 12, Hajtamairi was snatched from a home on Trailwood Place by what OPP said were three black males dressed in police gear. The suspects fled with Hajtamiri in what is believed to be a white, 2016-2022 model Lexus RX sport utility vehicle. Her whereabouts remain a mystery. At the news conference, investigators said they had no motive for the kidnapping, and there had been no ransom demand.
