This is the highest mountain range in mainland Australia, and it is home to the country’s tallest mountain, Mount Kosciuszko. During the summer months of December, January, and February, travellers come to Kosciuszko National Park for hiking and wildlife-spotting. During the winter months of June, July, and August, the mountains fill up with fresh snow and provide perfect slopes for skiing and snowboarding. The most popular ski resort is Thredbo, located at the foot of Mount Kosciuszko.
