Cats have about 20-40 percent of the visual acuity we do, which means they cannot depend on their vision the same way we do. Cats are quite nearsighted, which works when they’re hunting down prey. Again, it’s good that they can smell and hear so well. They can lean on those two senses and use vision to confirm what they already know they’re smelling or hearing.
