The Caspian Sea is located on the border between Europe and Asia. The length of its coastline is 7,000 kilometers and its maximum depth is 1025 meters. The Volga, Ural, Terek, Kura, Emba, Samur and Atrek rivers flow in the sea. One reason the Caspian Sea is considered as a sea is that its base is composed of oceanic crust. In summer, the water in the Caspian Sea warms up to 24 — 26 degrees C, and in some places up to 32 degrees C. In winter, the temperatures, depending on the region, vary from 0 to 10 degrees C.
