Who Is Suha Arafat?

I was engaged to a French legist at the time. Then I fell in love with Yaser. We got married in secret in a religious wedding in Tunisia. Our vows were held in separate rooms and I didn't even wear a wedding dress. My mother was against the marriage. She got on a plane and came to Tunisia and argued with Arafat. Now I understand what my mother was upset about. If I had known what I would have to go through; I definitely would not have gotten married. I was with a great leader, but I was also all alone.
