Hadi Choopan made the move to Men’s Open in 2019 where he found instant success at the Vancouver Pro, earning his ticket to his debut Mr. Olympia competition, which saw him take third place. From there, Choopan would stay in the top four before seizing the throne in 2022. At the biggest event of the year, ‘The Persian Wolf’ went up against some of bodybuilding’s top athletes including Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker. To claim the Sandow trophy, Choopan also had to dethrone ‘Big Ramy,’ who entered the competition as a favorite. Hadi Choopan received a hero’s welcome upon returning home to Iran following his title-winning display. Weeks later, in light of his victory, a 10-foot statue was built in his honor.
