Why do people watch movies?
Ordinary life seems boring to us
It may seem strange, but it is very rewarding and satisfying to feel that your life is special. To experience respect and reverence from those around you... But more often than not, life isn't like that at all. Interesting lives somewhere else in other cities, meaningful careers in other companies, happy lives with celebrities, it's all somewhere far away, where we're not. Films are very important in promoting a glamorous lifestyle. Cinematography presents us with many meters of pictures filled with beautiful shots of other people's lives. Unrealistic and glamorous images of reality appear so often on movie screens that we are used to evaluating this property of it as an all-encompassing negative property of movies.
