Why was Mohammad Reza Sharifi Nia imprisoned?

According to accounts of several prisoners who were at the time detained in Gohardasht prison in Karaj and Evin prison in Tehran in late July 1988, after Iran accepted UN Security Council Resolution 598 and officially ended the eight-year war with Iraq, authorities started transferring and isolating political prisoners in those prisons and abruptly suspended all prison visits.
