Hurricane Otis Slams Mexico

The GOES-West stationary satellite captured the rapid development of Hurricane Otis on Tuesday afternoon, with a glistening eye visible at its center. Strong hurricanes billow out clouds so quickly that they create ripple effects visible on satellite images. The National Hurricane Center immediately updated the forecast. A major hurricane was just off the coast of Guerrero and less than 12 hours from making landfall.
