The human body creates fart, also known as flatulence, as a natural byproduct of digestion. When we eat or drink, we also swallow small amounts of air. Additionally, our digestive system breaks down the food we consume through a process called fermentation, which produces gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and methane. These gases need to be released from the body, so they are expelled through the rectum as fart.
