On the day of Nowruz itself, families would gather for a festive meal, usually featuring traditional dishes like "sabzi polo mahi" (herbed rice with fish) and "reshteh polo" (rice with noodles). Children would receive gifts of money or gold coins, known as "Eidi," from their elders to bring them luck and prosperity in the coming year. Throughout the 13 days of Nowruz celebrations, families would visit each other's homes, exchange gifts, and participate in community feasts and events. There would be music, dancing, and storytelling, and people would wear new clothes and visit shrines and holy sites to pay their respects.
