Esther and Mordechai, the iconic figures from the biblical story of Purim, were said to have been buried in Iran. The exact location of their final resting place is a matter of much debate and speculation among historians and religious scholars. According to Jewish tradition, Esther was a Jewish queen of the Persian Empire who played a key role in saving her people from a genocidal plot orchestrated by the evil prime minister, Haman. With the help of her cousin Mordechai, she exposed Haman's plan and ultimately swayed King Xerxes to spare the Jewish people.
