When there is a lack of democracy, the power is concentrated in the hands of a few individuals or a single leader, who can easily manipulate and control the political system to their advantage. This creates an environment where the leader can easily establish a dictatorship by suppressing opposition, limiting freedoms, and consolidating their power. Without democratic institutions and processes in place, there is no accountability or checks and balances on the government, allowing the leader to govern with impunity and without fear of being removed from power. This leads to the erosion of civil liberties, suppression of dissent, and the proliferation of corruption within the government.
