In the early 20th century, Iran underwent a period of rapid modernization and urbanization under the rule of Reza Shah Pahlavi. Tehran was transformed into a modern capital city with new buildings, roads, and public spaces. The city's population boomed, and its status as a cultural and economic hub was solidified.
