Some lesser-known dictators, such as Idi Amin of Uganda, also experienced intense health challenges. Amin reportedly endured a range of conditions during his rule, but the extent of these ailments was often masked by the oppressive regime he led. His bouts of illness became more apparent towards the end of his rule when reports of uncontrollable weight gain and diabetes emerged, signifying a reckoning for a leader who had terrorized his people. The deterioration of his health reflected his loss of control over Uganda and foreshadowed his eventual exile.
