Tripoli Engulfed in Renewed Fighting as Government Forces Clash with Militias

At the heart of this recent turmoil appears to be a power struggle between armed groups nominally aligned with the Tripoli-based Government of National Unity (GNU). On one side are units operating under the Ministry of Interior, most notably the Special Deterrence Force (Al-Rada), and their allies. On the other side are factions linked to the Ministry of Defence, including the 444 Infantry Brigade and forces from Misrata. These groups are reportedly vying for control over strategic areas within the capital.
