Beyond the Apadana, numerous other palaces and halls contributed to the splendor of Persepolis. The Palace of Darius, known as the Tachara, is notable for its polished black stone and the exquisite quality of its reliefs, which portray the king in various ceremonial poses. Adjacent to it stood the Palace of Xerxes, the Hadish, a larger and more expansive residence, reflecting the continued growth and prosperity of the empire under his reign.
