
In many ways, the wedding symbolized a turning point. No longer constrained by traditional royal expectations, the Pahlavi family has increasingly embraced a modern, global identity. Iman, along with her sisters Noor and Farah, was born and raised in the United States after her family fled Iran during the 1979 Islamic Revolution. The girls were brought up with a strong awareness of their heritage but were also encouraged to pursue education and careers on their own terms. Today, Iman works at American Express in New York City, building a career far removed from court life or ceremonial duties.
