In the study, researchers used 16 young mice genetically modified to develop breast cancer. These mice were first fattened using a high-calorie diet and warm housing conditions to simulate obesity. For 16 weeks, half of the mice were given tirzepatide injections every other day, while the other half received a placebo. Tumor volume was measured twice a week. The researchers observed that alongside reductions in liver fat and body weight, the size of the tumors also shrank—suggesting a potential link between metabolic health and cancer suppression.
