The Rialto Bridge is one of the four bridges that span the Grand Canal and is an iconic symbol of Venice. Originally a wooden pontoon bridge, the current stone structure was completed in 1591. It's a bustling hub with small shops lining its main arch. While it can be very crowded, especially during the day, the views of the Grand Canal from the top are magnificent. Near the bridge, you'll find the Rialto Market, a vibrant local market where Venetians go to buy fresh produce, spices, and a wide variety of freshly caught seafood. It's an excellent place to soak in the local atmosphere.
